The fourth generation ŠKODA FABIA range once again includes a sporty FABIA MONTE CARLO to appeal to motorsport enthusiasts. The car is perfect for drivers who want to enjoy being out on the roads at the wheel of a car that’s a bit special. At the same time, the new FABIA MONTE CARLO provides the occupants with all the comfort, convenience and tech of the latest version of the popular hatchback.
EXTERIOR
The FABIA MONTE CARLO has traditionally appealed mainly to sport and active lifestyle enthusiasts. Again, in the latest version, black elements and details, including the radiator grille, the exterior mirror caps, the spoiler edge in the redesigned front bumper, the decorative trims on the side sills and the rear diffuser, give the car striking looks. Details such as the MONTE CARLO plaque and badge on the steering wheel, tinted rear and side windows and the option of ordering a black painted roof complete the overall impression.
INTERIOR
The dynamic concept is also reflected in the interior, which is dominated by black paint with red details and a leather-wrapped multifunctional three-spoke steering wheel and handbrake lever. The decorative trim of the interior parts has been given a carbon finish and the sports seats with integrated head restraints are a dominant feature. It is here that we also find elements in red, the horizontal bar on the dashboard and other parts of the interior is also red, and the ambient LED backlighting is the same colour. The sporty look is further enhanced by the stainless steel pedal covers.
The new FABIA MONTE CARLO boasts cutting-edge technology. One available option, for example, is a 10.25-inch virtual cockpit whose layout is tailor-made for this design version. The car’s convenient and practical features can include a heated windscreen, heated steering wheel, infotainment with a screen size ranging from 6.5 to 9.2 inches and, thanks to the integrated eSIM, you can always be online. This also lets the owner access ŠKODA Connect and mobile online services. There are options for mobile phone mirroring or wireless charging, and the FABIA MONTE CARLO has up to five USB-C ports.
SAFETY FEATURES
Safety equipment can include up to nine airbags, which, together with the car’s sophisticated construction and array of safety systems and assistants, earned the latest generation FABIA a five-star rating in Euro NCAP crash tests. Top of the assistance systems is one called Travel Assist, which enables assisted driving by combining adaptive cruise control, ultrasonic sensors and cameras, and a lane-keeping system. The parking assistant is also impressive. ISOFIX anchors can be found at the rear on the outer two seats and at the front on the passenger seat.
A car’s headlights are another important safety feature, and the FABIA MONTE CARLO comes with LED technology as standard, with Full LED headlights available as an option. Fog lights are also available and the rear lights with Full LED technology are another available option.
ENGINES
The new powertrains also contribute to the reduced fuel consumption, and the available range essentially replicates that of the standard ŠKODA FABIA. The basic version is the three-cylinder naturally aspirated 1.0 MPI EVO that delivers 59 kW of power and 93 Nm of torque and is coupled with a five-speed manual gearbox. The five-speed manual transmission is also available on cars equipped with the 1.0 TSI EVO engine, which generates 70 kW and 175 Nm of torque. The more powerful version of the three-cylinder TSI EVO (81 kW, 200 Nm) offers a choice of transmissions: a six-speed manual and a seven-speed dual-clutch DSG. The four-cylinder 1.5 TSI EVO, with 110 kW and 250 Nm of torque, is topped by a seven-speed DSG transmission as standard. In this version, the FABIA MONTE CARLO reaches a top speed of up to 225 km/h and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8 seconds.
